We are proud to announce that we have been officially named as one of the UK’s Best Workplace for Women (2023) by Great Place to Work, the global authority on workplace culture.

Only those businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status and Gleeds is proud to be one of just 55 companies to meet the required standard from the Super Large category. Its commitment to ensuring fair access and advancement for all, and to fostering a sense of value and empowerment in employees was instrumental in securing its accreditation.

Commenting on Gleeds’ latest certification Kate Williams, UK people director, said, “I’m delighted that Gleeds has been recognised with this accolade. We strive to create an inclusive environment for all, where our practices actively champion issues which are important to women, including opportunities for career progression, recognition for their performance and a supportive work environment that enables them to thrive.”

Gleeds CEO Graham Harle added, “Gleeds is proud to have created a business which truly works for women. Our focus has always been on how best to support the individual, fostering an environment in which everybody can flourish, so it is rewarding to see that this approach is paying dividends. The feedback received from female employees has been overwhelmingly positive, with praise for Gleeds’ commitment to flexibility, inclusivity, and working collaboratively.”

Great Place to Work performed rigorous evaluations of hundreds of employee survey responses alongside Culture Audit submissions from leaders at each company to create the 2023 UK's Best Workplaces for Women list. These insights were then used to evaluate the business’ effectiveness at delivering on its stated policies.

Earlier this year, Gleeds was awarded Great Place to Work certification from the body and has since gone on to be ranked amongst the top 50% of ‘Super Large’ companies in relation to employee wellbeing.
