Gleeds has secured a place on the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) new £6 million professional services framework. The programme will run for a period of four years and will see Gleeds tackle a range of projects nationwide between now and 2027.

Appointed to Lot 1, Construction Project Management, Gleeds will be called upon to deliver end-to-end project management for a host of schemes, including those in live broadcasting environments. The scope of works extends to design team management, property reconfiguration and structural enhancements, NEC3 and NEC4 contract administration, client reporting, project team selection, and tender process management.

Commenting on the appointment, Gleeds regional managing director Brian McArdle, said, “Having worked to deliver some of the most iconic buildings the BBC occupies, such as Broadcasting House and MediaCity in Salford, I am thrilled to have another opportunity to support the broadcasting giant with managing its extensive and ever-changing estate. I look forward to getting started on our first projects under the new framework in the months ahead.”

Neil Davis, head of programme management for BBC Workplace said, "We're absolutely delighted to have Gleeds on board as part of our professional services framework. We can't wait to team up and start working together. The organisation’s knowledge and expertise will bring a fresh and exciting dimension to our projects."

Gleeds was responsible for managing the redevelopment of Broadcasting House over two phases: the iconic Grade II listed building’s refurbishment, and the creation of 70,000m² of state-of-the-art facilities for over 5,000 staff. It also acted as project and cost manager at MediaCity, Salford, delivering over 50,000m2 of commercial space, a studio with post-production facility, and exhibition areas.
